RISE follows Jonathan A. Prufrock as he comes face to face with the perils of the male ego while attempting to be super. The issue series of this premium print comic explores the performative nature of masculinity through the elevated life of a superhero attempting to navigate the pressures of what it really means to be a good man as while his powers scale with spikes of dopamine. Further, we ask, what does it take for one person to feel themselves deserving of love?

RISE's first chapter introduced Jon to the life of a superhero, following him as he took his first steps into the extraordinary. He met the love of his life, tastes the early rewards of celebrity, and yet, struggles to find a motivation of his own to be a hero—one beyond what feels like an obligation.
